In the 1920’s the famous Conde Nast, publisher of Vogue, Vanity Fair and other magazines, owned and lived in the magnificent penthouse of this building which was built exclusively for him. As a symbol of status, Nast loved this location and chose it to be his haven here in Manhattan. The design of the penthouse was a benchmark in terms of architecture and design with a greenhouse-like glass canopy covering the terrace. The ballroom was also made to extend to the edges of the building. Though the penthouse is no longer being used as an apartment, the glory days of this structure have not been forgotten. Just as he did, the lovers of fashion and the lap of luxury will definitely desire to live in 1040 Park Avenue. The demure yet very handsome design of this building is very captivating; it will be a delight to live in such a place.
